D.2: the two laws of marriage

on:Previously: Croazia became an evil child, Barcelona a lucky teenager who wants to be Legend of Chess, Amerigo spent time with his girlfriend Letitia, and Virginia with Courtney, Amerigo’s half brother. Nicklaus… well, he did nothing.

Soon, it’s time for Amerigo to grow up and finally become an adult. This birthday is very different from all the other Virginia has seen, and she remains astonished by the red sparkles around her son.
But, apart from that, the shiny skin and sparkling eyes, and some strange and squeamish alimentary tastes, he does seems a normal boy… and much more attractive that before.

And he doesn’t want to wast any time. Now that he’s an adult, he wants something more with Letitia…
And when he asks her to marry him, she’s happy to accept.
Virginia is not happy that Amerigo wants to leave home so early, immediately after his birthday. She loves him very much, even if this still shocks her, and she also wants more time to study his strange passion for that red fruits and the reason why his skin burns so easily under the sun.
But Amerigo seems so happy with Letitia, and Virginia is torn between being happy for him and sad for herself.
But finally, she decides to feel proud of her eldest son, who is so clever, and capable and independent, and ready to start his own life. Maybe he will also give her a grandson.
At the end of the day, when Amerigo and Letitia leave to reach their new home, she can’t help to feel so lonely…
So, she decides to invite Courtney in her bedroom, while Nicklaus is occupied hosting the reception. The boy needs a little convincing at first, but in the end she’s sure to have obtained a new child to compensate the one she’s just lost.
But, even if she has fallen pregnant immediately, as she hopes, she’s not going to have that child in her arms for so very long… She wants someone to care for, and she’s happy when Courtney, before parting, leaves her another gift: this little puppy named Roux.
AN: Roux is short for Roussillon, a beautiful town in France which is famous for its red landscape thanks to hills of red dirt.
