B. A charming B daddy

Virginia is surprised to discover how adept she is at motherhood. There’s nothing she enjoys more than take care for her little Amerigo. She also loves looking at him for hours, and then taking notes for her studies. For instance, she wonders who he got that strange skin from.

When she isn’t feeding or cleaning her baby, Virginia spends her time working with strange substances… It looks like she’s nearer and nearer to her second objective: find a way to live enough to bear the other 25 children she needs.

Unfortunately, she doesn’t have the opportunity to meet new young men to father her children, until Amerigo’s birthday.

Virginia is delighted to look her son grow up to be blond like her, although she’s also a bit creeped out by his glowing skin and eyes, that seem to be the same grey shade of hers. Intrigued but this strange genetic, Virginia is even more convinced of the necessity of her studies, and is determined to continue: now that Amerigo is old enough to be brought out of home, it’s time to find her next mate.

She finds him in the library again. His name is Niklaus Del Conte, and, as Virginia discovers almost immediately, he’s a hopeless romantic like her, and he is single. Also, he seems interested ,and not at all worried that she already has a child.

They seem very compatible, and he flirts with her immediately after some minutes of conversation.

A bit startled, Virginia realized that she likes him… that’s a bit worrying, giving that she will soon carry his child and then never have a relationship of any kind with him.

Before he leaves, they agree to meet at her home the next day.

Virginia spends the rest of her afternoon teaching Amerigo to walk. He’s a bit unsteady, but it appears he’s doing well… Virginia takes notes on his incredible high learning speed.

The next day, while waiting for Niklaus, Virginia also does some potty training with his son.

And then she teaches him how to talk.

Meanwhile, Niklaus arrives, and he’s immediately attracted by the carillon playing on the table, and starts swinging on his legs hearing that sweet music. Virginia is amused by the cute scene: he truly is a hopeless romantic!

And, in fact, she doesn’t need much time to convince him to kiss her, and then bring her to the bed to give her a child… while Amerigo is playing with blocks in the next room.

It appears soon that Niklaus did his job: she’s so nauseous she cant’ even eat! She knows what this means… even though this time nausea is much more merciful with her.

As soon as she’s sure of being pregnant, Virginia begins to feel conflicted about Niklaus. According to her Plan, it’s better to do not have any kind of relationship with the babies’ fathers. But she likes Niklaus… she has discovered that he likes cooking, like her, he likes reading, and gardening… he looks like the perfect man!

She’s so young, and she wants to find love, even though she knew that with her Plan it could be so difficult… but Niklaus…

In the end she decides that she wants at least to try: she calls him to announce that she’s pregnant with his child.

He appears so happy, that Virginia starts to think that maybe she feels something more for him… and that sensation even increases when she notices that he spontaneously takes time to care for her older child, and Amerigo seems to like him too.

To avoid the conflicting feelings and thoughts, Virginia spends a lot of time in the library, to study and have some quality time with her child.

But she can’t escape from the other child, the one she’s expecting from Niklaus, that reminds her its existence with a kick every other minute.

And the time to think and choose is over, soon, as she gives birth to Niklaus’s daughter…
